Plans are underway for big celebrations at the Summer Markets as Spry celebrates 5 years of Spry Maritimes Shows and 15 years of the Ontario Shows. Retailers from all corners of Ontario and Atlantic Canada have embraced the Spry environment to buy for their stores each year and we want to show our appreciation to each and every one this season.

In addition to Spry’s signature complimentary lunch each day, there will be prize give-aways and other sweet treats each day of the Shows. And, as we get closer to the shows, we’ll also let you know how to score some sweet give-aways from our exhibitors, too.

Multi-tool Maker Launches Leatherman Grant Program

Leatherman debuts its first-ever grant program, donating $100,000

to inspire and develop the next generation of problem solvers

Portland, OR — June 12, 2018 — In 1983, after eight years of perseverance, Tim Leatherman created the world’s first multi-tool, and it became an icon. Over the last 35 years, Leatherman multi-tools have prepared people around the world to tackle challenges, and in some cases have even saved lives. Now, the creator of the original multi-tool wants to inspire and support the next generation of doers who may someday save the day and change the world.

Today, Leatherman is launching the Leatherman Grant Program. This inaugural program will donate $100,000 to support non-profit organizations that aim to inspire, prepare, and develop the next generation of problem solvers. The goal is to unleash the potential and fund the efforts of pioneering non-for-profit organizations who are solving problems to make the world a better place, just like Tim Leatherman did 35 years ago.  

“It took eight long years and lots of perseverance to create a multi-tool I liked and finally, that the market liked too,” said Tim Leatherman, co-founder and chairman of the board. “We created this grant program to provide funds for fresh innovative ideas that have the potential to make a big impact. We hope we can enable someone to make their mark and make a difference.”

Grant applications will be accepted from June 12, 2018, until August 31, 2018. All 501(c)3 organizations or the global equivalent are eligible to apply for funding ranging from $5,000 to $15,000. A team of Leatherman employees including Tim Leatherman will choose 10 to 15 grantees. Grantees will be announced in October 2018.

Ontario Show - Bursting at the Seams - Opens second floor Showroom Suites at Embassy Grand

Demand is highfor exhibit space in the Ontario Spry Winter Market from brands wanting to show their Fall '18/Winter '19 collections. With cooperation from Embassy Grand, we have been able to create some showroom suites on the 2nd floor of the building and these have now been scooped up from some high-profile brands. Look for signage in the Official Guide, on the show floor and in the Buyers Lounge indicating the location of these showroom suites.

The upcoming Fall/Winter Booking season Spry shows are almost all sold out now! There will be close to 500 brands represented at Spry this next season.

The list of exhibiting brands at the Ontario Season Preview, scheduled for November 20th - 23rd, is now posted. You can view the list of brands here:  http://spryshow.ca/preview-show-exhibitors . The Preview is a great opportunity to efficiently take in line-presentations of about 30 of the leading brands of active lifestyle clothing and place orders at maximum booking discounts.

The lists of brands that will be participating in the Ontario and Maritimes Winter Markets will be posted very shortly once all of the booth space allocations and numbers are finalized.  

 

2017 Summer Markets see robust attendance

A massive thank you to all the retailers that chose the Spring Season Preview, the Spry Maritimes and Ontario Summer Markets as a destination to buy for their stores for next Spring/Summer. 

Spry Maritimes hosted retailers from all 4 Atlantic provinces with many using multiple days at the show to take in line presentations with as many of the near 200 brands at the show as they had time for.

The Ontario Show was blessed with hundreds of retailers traveling from as far away as Thunder Bay, Hearst, Ottawa, Cornwall, Niagara Falls, Windsor and Tobermory; truly representing all corners of the province.

Thank you to all of the exhibitors that participated without whose financial support the shows wouldn't happen. 

There was no shortage of great brands and collections to buy for Spring '18. If you weren't able to attend the shows, you can still visit the respective show pages on this site to connect with the brands that participated and book appointments to see the collections before the booking deadlines.
